Mangalore: National Women’s Front Secretary Shaheeda Tasneem on Aug 13 accused the intelligent people of DK district of ignoring women in their midst as secondary citizens. An efficient police officer Bharathi, was transferred out of district. A roadside vendor shobha was attacked by traffic policemen the other day. It is regrettable to see that women are explaited this way, Tasneem observed presiding over a protest rally organized by social Democratic Party of India in alliance, on Saturday afternoon in front of DC office near SBI.
She urged the city police to break the lock of secrecy behind the double murder of a married women and her daughter in a brutal stabbing case at Panjimogaru over 6 weeks ago. she demanded that the kavoor police should be free of all temptations, and quickly solve the murders case in which, a mother (Razia) and daughter(Zehra) were attacked violently by unknown criminals. If the case is not properly detected by capturing murderers within next ten days, the NW Front will carry out a more serious agitation along with other like –minded organizations in the city, she warned.
SDPI Dakshin Kannada chief Jaleel Krishnapura, speaking on the occasion, alleged that several case involving attacks on women in the district were never solved by proper investigation or skilful detection. Police squads that get to the roots of smaller Crimes, have failed in this case of double murder. He said SDPI fully supported NWF in pursuing this case to its end.
SDPI secretary Akbar Ali called upon local women to unite to solve the problems involving women, as in crimes.
NWF district unit chief Shamina Welcomed the protestors. Buntwal unit chief S.Manchi thanked.
Arif Markada, brother of late Razia, NCHRO state convenor M.Kakkinje, SDPI Kavoor committee chief M.Rafiq Kuloor were present as mans guests.
